ONTRAS Gastransport GmbH

ONTRAS Gastransport GmbH is a cross-regional transmission system operator in the European gas transport system, headquartered in Leipzig. To ensure flawless natural gas transport for customers, ONTRAS operates the second longest transmission network in Germany, with approximately 7,500 kilometres of pipeline and around 450 network connection points. In doing so, the company brings together the interests of transport customers, traders, regional network operators and renewable gas producers as a reliable partner. 22 biogas facilities are connected to the ONTRAS network, which feed in just under 20 per cent of the biomethane generated across Germany each year. In addition, two power-to-gas facilities feed hydrogen and synthetic methane into the network of the transmission system operator.
