Biogas business area
VNG has concentrated its activities related to biogas and biomethane in the Biogas business area since 2020. In this context, biogas is one of the most important growth segments. BALANCE Erneuerbare Energien GmbH currently operates 41 biogas plants in eastern and northern Germany.
The focus of its activities is on plant optimisation and successively expanding its level of vertical integration as a plant operator. In future, VNG will thus have additional opportunities to increase the share of renewable energy sources in the gas network.
