Konsequente Umsetzung der Konzernstrategie „VNG 2030+“: VNG-Tochter erweitert Geschäft mit Biogas um weitere zehn Biogasanlagen in Ostdeutschland
Die BALANCE Erneuerbare Energien GmbH (BEE), eine 100-prozentige Tochtergesellschaft der VNG-Konzerngesellschaft BALANCE VNG Bioenergie GmbH (BALANCE), hat heute das Biogasanlagen-Portfolio der Nordstrom AG erworben. Das Portfolio besteht aus insgesamt zehn Biogasanlagen (Verstromungsanlagen) an acht Standorten in Sachsen-Anhalt (2 Standorte in Plätz, Hottendorf, Hohenwulsch, Rossau, Mehrin), Brandenburg (Freyenstein) sowie Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (Teterow). Zugleich übernimmt BEE das für die Betriebsführung beschäftigte Personal. Der Kauf steht noch unter dem Vorbehalt der Zustimmung des Bundeskartellamts. Über den Kaufpreis haben beide Parteien Stillschweigen vereinbart. Das neu erworbene Portfolio an Biogasanlagen ergänzt das bisherige Portfolio der BALANCE, das bisher 15 Anlagen mit einer Gesamtleistung von rund 73 MW(FWL) umfasst.
Mit dem neuen Biogasanlagen-Portfolio erhöht die BALANCE ihre installierte Anlagenleistung um fast ein Drittel und verfolgt konsequent ihre Wachstumsstrategie im Bereich grüner Gase. Die VNG-Tochter trägt damit wesentlich dazu bei, im Sinne der VNG-Konzernstrategie „VNG 2030+“, substanziell im Bereich Biogas zu wachsen. „Die BALANCE befindet sich auf einem ambitionierten Wachstumspfad. Hierbei liegt uns die eigene Betriebsführung der Anlagen und die regionale Wertschöpfung sehr am Herzen. Die BEE investiert nicht nur in Anlagenkonzepte, sondern entwickelt diese durch stetige Optimierungsprozesse konsequent weiter. Für VNG nimmt Biogas im Rahmen unserer Grün-Gas-Strategie einen wichtigen Stellenwert ein. Biogas ist flexibel einsetzbar, speicherbar und grundlastfähig. Diese Alleinstellungsmerkmale von Biogas ermöglichen, vor allem den wachsenden Anteil von erneuerbaren fluktuierenden Energien in der deutschen Stromerzeugung nachhaltig zu ergänzen“, erläutert Hans-Joachim Polk, Vorstandsmitglied Infrastruktur/Technik der VNG.
BALANCE was founded in 2006 and is currently one of the leading biogas plant operators in Germany with 39 plants in northern and eastern Germany. The company, which currently has around 160 employees, supplies people throughout Germany with regionally produced, safe and CO2-neutral energy in the form of biogas, heat and electricity. With an ambitious growth strategy, BALANCE has quintupled its plant portfolio since 2018 and today generates renewable energy with a firing thermal capacity of over 166 MWFWL. This means that BALANCE mathematically supplies around 51,000 households with renewable electricity and up to 53,000 households with green gas every year.
